EarthSpring celebrates a whole season of Earth Days! Our first EarthSpring kick-off event will take place on April 3 from 4-8 PM at Gentile Brewing Company. More details to come. We joined Cape Ann Climate Coalition's Educators Electrify Everything kickoff event at Hannah School and provided free energy coaching, connected with Beverly residents at the Community Resource Fair at the Beverly Public Library. And we wrapped it all up with our annual staff retreat, realigning with our mission and goals and spending good quality time together. Big things are coming! |

Green Beverly and the City of Beverly want your non-profit, house of worship, or school to know that there are energy efficiency solutions that will minimize your costs and maximize your impact. To achieve these long-term savings, please consider two paths for savings and improvements - the Mass Save program and the Solar Upgrading Nonprofits program. Green Beverly would love to meet with you to help you get started! Free of charge! Mass Save: MassSave has great incentives for non-profits. Up to 100% of project costs covered for projects that will help: Reduce operational costs by improving energy efficiency and direct more resources towards your non-profit’s mission Get long-term cost savings with an upgrade to HVAC, refrigeration, insulation, lighting, and more Improve indoor air quality and comfort for employees, volunteers, and visitors
Solar: The Solar Upgrading Nonprofits program provides busy nonprofits interested in solar with the resources they need to access significant energy savings and build environmental resiliency. Participants receive free solar feasibility assessments, a $2,500 to $7,500 stipend for their time spent exploring solar, and free grant writing support to help cover the upfront costs of installing solar. We encourage any organizations interested in solar to apply as soon as possible so they can take advantage of federal solar incentives (worth 30-50% of total project costs) before they are phased out. WORK UPDATE: Volunteers have been cutting back burning bush which has distinctive brownish, corky “wings” that run up and down each stem. Every week they are working on the same hill - gradually cutting back this invasive plant. This past Saturday was a beautiful afternoon in the woods: sun, snow, and great conversations! Just what we all needed. SAVE THE DATE: April 23rd 7-8pm, Green Beverly will be at the Beverly Library event about “Gardening & BioBlitz” A bioblitz is a short, intense event where volunteers work together to identify as many living species in an area that they can. |

Get Involved with Green Beverly! We are looking for folks to come help us with ongoing volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Whether you're a seasoned eco-warrior or just getting started, there's a way for you to pitch in. Current Opportunity: Food Diversion Each week, Green Beverly volunteers and staff rescue food that will not be sold and bring it to those in our community who need it. We are currently looking for Sunday volunteers! At 11:45 am on Sundays, can you help us move food from Whole Foods to a refrigerator? ⭐Renters in Beverly, this one's for YOU! Green Beverly is excited to launch a compost pilot program with two new drop-off sites at Hannah Elementary School and Glen Urquhart School. Beverly residents who register will also receive access to two additional compost locations run by the City of Beverly. Participation is simple: review the composting guidelines, complete the Green Beverly sign-up form, and receive your combination lock code within a week.
