Let’s walk the trash talk!
Green Beverly is seeking volunteers who want to make a real difference in taking charge of the environmental impact that our awesome Beverly events have on the environment.
How? By joining a cadre of like-minded individuals to be trained and ready to ensure that the food waste and trash produced at community events such as Lobsterfest, Pumpkin Smash and Block parties are disposed of sustainably. —————————————————————————————————
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
Sustainable waste management helps prevent the emission of many greenhouse gasses and water pollutants, saves energy, supplies valuable raw materials to industry, creates jobs, stimulates the development of greener technologies, conserves resources for our children’s future, and reduces the need for new landfills and combustors.
Q: Who can join this trashy, but elite team? Individuals or groups who like attending community events AND helping the environment. People who enjoy working as a team
Q: What is the time commitment? Several hours of training at a time to be determined. One 2-hour shift at local social events that match your availability. A year’s commitment to be on-call to help as the need arises.
