🐝 Green Beverly's Garden Rebate Program Is Open for Spring 🐝

🌼June is here, and so is our Garden Rebate Program! If you've been dreaming of a bigger, more beautiful native garden, now is the time to make it happen. Green Beverly is offering up to $500 in rebates for new pollinator gardens that meet our size and native plant criteria. Check eligibility and apply while funds are still available!

Commercial Solar deadline for Incentives - July 4th, including Non-Profits and Houses of Worship*

🌼Federal solar incentives (30%) are winding down.  A big deadline is July 4th. Here are the rules: 
There are 2 pathways to Safe Harbor (guarantee your federal incentive) for a project:
1. Sign a contract and make an initial deposit (at least 5% and recommended 7-10%) before July 4, 2026. This gives 4 years to build the project.
2. Complete the system installation before December 31, 2027.
*If you are a non-profit or house of worship, you can get PAID to consider solar as an option! Solar Upgrading Nonprofits offers free feasibility assessments, $2,500–$7,500 stipends, and free grant writing support. Apply soon to lock in the 30–50% federal solar tax credit.

We are looking to connect with new groups across the city. 🍃 Volunteer Opportunities:
-ArtsFest (June 20) — Help Green Beverly make ArtsFest greener than ever! Staff waste stations, sort recycling, compost, and trash, answer questions, and keep things running smoothly. Sign up for a shift here or email info@greenbeverly.org with "ARTSFEST" in the subject line.

-Food Diversion — Every Sunday at 11:45 am and Thursday at 9:45 am, help us move unsold food from Whole Foods to neighbors in need. Must be able to carry 35 lbs and have a larger vehicle. Email info@greenbeverly.org with "MOVE FOOD" in the subject line.

-Driveway Parties — Live in Centerville, Raymond Farms (behind Henry's), or Gloucester Crossing? Host a driveway chat with Green Beverly this summer! We'll talk about home energy, bills, heat pumps, and more. Email info@greenbeverly.org with "Driveway Party" in the subject line.

🍃 Senior Citizen Opportunity
Energy Ambassador — Know about Mass Save or energy savings? Share it with your neighbors as a 2026 Energy Ambassador. Paid and volunteer roles available. Learn more and apply here or email info@greenbeverly.org.

🌱Replace it BEFORE it DIES:  Central air, heating systems, and hot water heaters 

Give yourself the gift of time. If your central air, heating system, or hot water heater is nearing the end of its life (check the install date!), start researching energy-saving replacements now. It's much easier to explore options while everything's still working than to scramble once something breaks down.

• Heat pumps to COOL and HEAT:  Take a look at this Green Beverly page for a general understanding of heat pumps. Mass Save has rebates for up to $8500 to install heat pumps. 

• Heat pump hot water heaters:  Mass Save rebates for up to $1500 per system. 

• Replace your central air with heat pumps to cool your home - you will get heat as well!

In order to take advantage of Mass Save rebates, you need to start with a no-cost assessment.

🌱 Reduce your trash  - keep food out of the trash - compost it instead! 
Green Beverly has launched a FREE compost pilot program with two new drop-off sites at Hannah Elementary School and Glen Urquhart School. Beverly residents who register will also receive access to two additional compost locations run by the City of Beverly.
