“As we close out 2025, I find myself reflecting on this extraordinary 4th year with profound gratitude. From the inspiring energy efficiency work in our renter communities, to the meaningful conversations that unfolded at our Food Fight! (Community Conversation at The Cabot), from our Food Rescue program that has become even more critical as of late, to the simple joy of gathering together at the Pumpkin Smash, each moment has united us as a community.
Our in-person tabling events and monthly meetups have reminded me time and again that community isn't just a word; it's the faces we recognize, the hands we shake, the stories we share, and the work we do side by side. To our incredible volunteers who give so generously of their time, to residents who open their hearts to change, to our environmental leaders who inspire us daily, and to our partners who stand with us in this work, thank you.

Beverly's Clean Energy Success Continues

Congratulations, City of Beverly, history has been made! Starting January 2026, Beverly Community Electric will deliver near-level prices and 100% renewable electricity. Green Beverly is honored to have been part of this project, which stands as the largest carbon reduction initiative in our four-year history. Thank you for your trust and support.

Save Money on Your Utility Bills

Green Beverly is helping Beverly residents lower their energy costs through our Utility Bill Review Program. We'll help you find electricity discounts you're eligible for, make sure you're getting the best rate, and connect you with mass save rebates and incentives for weatherization. Over the next three years, we're reaching out to renters, landlords, seniors, and small businesses across Beverly.

🌎 Sunday, December 21, 1-3 pm: Community Meetup Series at beantrust coffeebar

We’re co-hosting monthly meetups with beantrust coffeebar all year long, every 3rd Sunday from 1-3 pm. Bring your sustainability questions or ideas, or just stop in for a friendly conversation and coffee! Find us inside or outside on the back patio (dress for the weather!).

🌎If you are interested in knowing more about Green Beverly's volunteer opportunities or about its history, goals and mission, please join us on Wednesday, February 11 for Green Beverly 101 Beverly Public Library, at the Barnet Gallery Meeting Room from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. This is a fun, and informative way to meet some of our staff, learn about our many community projects to ensure that our beautiful community will remain resilient and strong for future generations. We are removing invasive plants at Beverly’s J.C. Phillips property during the upcoming winter season! No experience necessary - learn from our Pull Leaders as you do the work! Tools provided.

🌎Are you a senior citizen or do you live in Gloucester Crossing?

We are looking for Energy Ambassadors! Are you a senior citizen Beverly resident, or a resident of the Gloucester Crossing neighborhood? Get paid* to be trained to help your neighbors learn about Mass Save rebates and incentives, and how to save on utility bills.

Quick wins to get you started:

Shop your closets first: you may already have what you need.
Buy second-hand: Check consignment shops and online marketplaces.
Shop local: Reduce transportation emissions by buying from nearby stores and choosing locally made or grown products.
Choose eco-friendly products: Look for sustainable materials or compostable alternatives.
Avoid plastic packaging: Opt for paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum, or buy in bulk.
BYO bags: Use reusable shopping and produce bags everywhere.
Gift experiences: Give concert tickets, classes, or services instead of stuff.
